About Us
Who are we?
The heart of MAS is to equip and train leaders for the church who will be able to meet the challenges of the 21st century. We believe that interactive class work, interesting curriculum and a healthy diet of real life ministry opportunities are the way to train leaders. We focus on the development of character and competence while helping students grow in their faith.
What is the purpose of MAS?
Metro Atlanta Seminary is the training facility of the Metro Atlanta Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America. It serves the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom, by equipping students in biblical knowledge and ministry expertise for a life of Christian service in order to fulfill the Great Commission.
Serving our Lord demands certain timeless distinctives: a thorough understanding of the Scriptures, a clear grasp of the central doctrines of our faith, a profound knowledge of God, and above all, a fervent commitment to serve him. The Metro Atlanta Seminary endeavors to train its students with these distinctives.
Who are the professors?
We are privelged to have seasoned men teaching at the seminary: Bob Edmiston, Dennis Bennett, Randy Schlichting, Horace Cutter, Matthew Means, John Evans
What accreditation does MAS hold?
The only form of certification MAS has, or intends to have, is from the Metro Atlanta Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America. However, MAS has met the requirements for exemption from applicable Georgia law as a religious institution to grant degrees from the State of Georgia's Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission.
